This project was set up 5 years ago by Xavier Ormancy, who is the ethnobotanist at Chanel. He became particulary interested in the Amchi traditional medicine, which goes back for thousands of years. These Amchi Doctors in the hymalayas are really cut off from the rest of the world. So they really do rely and need these medicinal plants for their local communities health and well-being. With the help of Chanel and it’s support for the ‘Himalayan Society for traditional medicine’, these communities that rely on this golden flower, can now ensure that it’s incredible properties will benefit for many generations to come.
What Chanel is doing is they are actively involved in training a new generation of Amchi doctors, additionally Chanel is cataloguing all the plants so that it is properly recorded. This insures that the tradition of the Amchi medicine is passed on and not lost forever.
In the north of India Xavier Ormancy met an Amchi doctor, and this doctor told him that on a daily basis he used this golden flower, called the ‘Golden Champa’ , to detoxify bodies. So Xavier wanted to find out if this therapeutic plant, could be used for skin care.
So now, Chanel research has developed for the very first time, the golden flower of the hymalayas, from the amchi medicine to skin care. Providing women a wonderful answer to fight against all signs of aging… How?
